I tried to make this sparkler fuse effect as it looked rather simple, but I can’t get even close to recreating it.

Is it done with trapcode shine or particular or something else? I’ve used both shine and particular before but I’m not very experienced working with either but I’m trying to learn a bit when I get the chance. I’ve fooled around with both for this effect and particular seems okay for achieving this when I put the aux system continuously, but still it’s not close, not by far yet and I think I’m looking at the wrong solution. Can anyone shine a light on this effect and how to achieve it?

Actually – it looks to me as if it’s done either with VideoCopilot’s Optical Flares, or Knoll Lens Flare – either will do it.
