How to make this camera effect?
Posted by Susan Lan on April 25, 2016 at 7:42 amHi, I’m trying to create a similar camera movement for a spot video (i’m studying, not professional), I wonder is there is an script or tecnique in order to create this same camera movement as the follow video: I have a footage of a girl in screen chroma key removed, and I wonder how create this move camera zoom and change like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZUBgq-zlww
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZUBgq-zlww-Minute from 0:44 to 0:46, how to make that zoom in the girl that is repeated?
-Minute from 0:40 to 0:41, how move the gril from “side to side” (i’m not engluish) how to make that fx?
-Minute from 0:50 to 0:51, that fx that appears girl 3 time coming from left to rigth, something tell me is “time echo”, is that right? because I don’t find any tutorial of that,
-Minute form 1:54 to 1:55, hot to zoom and rotate is that way in camera?
-Minute 1:09 how to make appear from behind the girl, another person?
Please, my results are horrible, any kind suggestions?

April 25, 2016 at 8:58 amWhile I admire your ambition this is asking a lot for a “class assignment” video.
Perhaps you would be better off with approximations or just basics. All of what you ask for is doable in more than one way.But perhaps you should take a look through the effects folders and reading the titles find some which you can adapt.
Someone may have time to work out all of the “expressions ” for you but it is still a lot of work. Are you sure you could then have the knowledge to adapt what people told you to do, to your own project?
Potentially there are days of work involved to get specific steps worked out . Often studio producers use canned effects which are then tweaked for these commercial videos.
This is not “an overnight fix” you are asking for. Try your hand at some expression writing. And it is very late in the semester for skills which cah take a long time to hone.

April 25, 2016 at 11:07 amI can not pay you, can you tell me, at least, any clue to achieve that? For example, I have a chroma key removed girl singing, then, to move the camera like in the minute 0:40 to 0:41
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZUBgq-zlww
I will try with “sure target” from videocopilot, and in order to make the first “echo zoom” of minute 0:40, how can I achieve that, whit efect is that? Some contents or functionalities here are not available due to your cookie preferences! This happens because the functionality/content marked as “Google Youtube” uses cookies that you choosed to keep disabled. April 25, 2016 at 12:58 pmI do not see an “echo zoom”
I see a layer cut between to clips with a mask in between. You can also see the layer has some small layer effect bleeding between the two if you go frame by frame.
It is hard to scrub through an online vide to see what is going on. But to me it looks like a straight jump with no easing.
Jut line up your layers with your mask of choice. You can set a null shape layer with your timing slider at the top and pick whip any opacity, scale or any other cut actions to the same slider effect object.
Suggest you generate a wave form. Study the wave form and mark that layer for your timing event. Use that to pick whip effects to the music timing and some how generate the null from that or put make a slider effect from that.
Either use an illustrator or Photoshop
file as a mask or make one from a shape layer. You can then scale it or change transparency via a pick whip to the slider as well. You can look at this all as key frames or as a graph with timing easing etc. So many decisions. So many reviews to tweak it right.
Do this,. Look at your sample ideal clip. Write a list of what it does. How fast in frames and seconds it does what you like. Look at opacities etc. Use that list to refer back as you work.
As a student this is a good time to consider will you do motion video to someone else’s deadlines for pay. ( down and dirty, hose it out the door) or will you be ” un artiste” who lolls over decisions and to whom it is never just right ? Or will you try to find the in-between ?As I sad before, there are many ways to accomplish this transition at 0:40. You could even do it in Premiere with a simple transition and a layer mask. Not as precisely but the move at 0:40 is very fast anyway.

The move at 0:50 could also be done in many ways.
If you have a plug in then go for it.If not then just a keycolor blend or black overwrite. Or whatever aplpha blend you like.
Down and dirty make as many duplicate layers as you need. Stagger them for time in/out as you like.
Edit audio accordingly.Again there are many ways to do it.
Precomping as needed.
1:54- 1:55 looks like a scale effect.
I do not see a “rotate” .
I see a placement of composition elements which are sequentially juxtaposed to suggest more motion that the eye perceives across the transition(s). Study them frame by frame if you want to learn.01:09 Again duplicate layers staggered for time and position

April 25, 2016 at 7:15 pmI would use the expressions sampler called “follow.”
The expressions sampler is an old project file from Adobe. You can have a copy of it here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2S2b7kN6I8iWlhIeVBYUS1jTzQ

April 26, 2016 at 3:18 pmThe “follow” composition in the Expression Sampler project has 9 solid layers. The first layer is called leader. There are no expressions on the leader.
Layers 2 – 9 are duplicates of each other. The expressions are built by Adobe, and they created their own effect (probably an animation preset) called “Delay” which is not to be confused with the audio effect. Here is a screen capture:
