  • How to make the canvas fit inside the frame?

Posted by John Rich on January 26, 2008 at 2:32 pm

I appologize for the question which probably has a very simple answer, but anyway. When I create a new file (720×480) with video safe guides, it always comes out at 100% and fills a lot of the screen.
I want to “shrink” the whole picture down, to say 50%, but when I do with the zoom tool, or change the number in the lower left hand corner, only the picture, but not the frame shrinks.
Is there any precise way to make the frame size the same as the picture, or do I have to drag the corner of the frame in to shrink it.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Change teh mode you are in by using the F key

Can also use Cmd + + or Cmd + –

I just found another way to do it by selecting the zoom key and then right clicking in the picture (not the canvas). Fit Image to canvas comes up and click it and there you are.
