November 27, 2008 at 11:56 pmWhy not do it the old fashion way and lay it out to vhs and bring it in again, done. Do a test. Get the cut approved and go.

November 28, 2008 at 12:25 pmAnd if you want even worse quality just do a couple of straight VHS to VHS dubs (or FCP->VHS->FCP->VHS) until you get the level of degradation that you (and the client) want.

November 28, 2008 at 5:27 pmMy standard recommendation on all types of format “looks”: go gently.
A little of these effects goes a long way. Your audience is not stupid and a nice effect that was supposed to enahnce your look and feel can rapidly become a tedious and distracting or boring affectation.bogiesan
This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

December 3, 2008 at 6:30 pmthanks for your suggestions guys!
in the end, I decided to record the final movie on s-vhs and put it back to the computer. It worked great!
I was thinking too much about filters and even forgot there was this much easier (and in my opnion, better) way. Thanks again!
