  • how to make frames become still and just 3d camera in motion

    Hi, there,

Presently I am making a promo in which I will try to put the MATRIX style camera work like just the camera would be in motion or orbitual rotation and other elements in the comp would be still.

    Scenario:

I have two layers in a comp. One is named ‘Emitters’ in which emitters are working to flow the partciles through the text and second layer is Text layer in which the title of my promo is written. All the two layers are 3d. I have also added camera and a bit orbitual motion to it and put the effects as I liked to the emitters. Now after few frames I want to make my particles and text become still whereas my camera should just move on its orbit, so it will give the Matrix Camera Effect.

Kindy tell me in detail that how could I make my specific frame or frames still and again move after few frames to its original motion.

Kindly help me soon regarding this issue.

    Regards,
    Pharhaan Xapher

To get the Matrix bullet-time effect, I recommend using Trapcode’s Particular for the particles, because it allows particles in a 3D space and it allows you to freeze the particles independently of the AE camera’s motion. To freeze the particles, animate the Physics time factor from 1 to 0 (possibly using hold keyframes), move the camera, then set the physics time factor back to 1 again.

There is a little tutorial on Trapcode’s website.
