  • How to make explosion “churn” for longer?

Hi. Another one of those questions I can’t figure out by Googling or trial and error. . .

So I’m using one of the explosion particle emitters. What I’d like to do is basically slow it down, so that once it “blooms”, it doesn’t “burn out” and fade as fast. Now, I looked at the keyframes to see what was animated, and played with those parameters (making the distance between keys longer), but the results I got from that were that only after everything turns white does it kind of stick around and then abruptly cut out.

I’d like it to bloom/blossom as normal, and the roil/churn for a while, and then fade. Any way to make this happen? Thanks.

You can try cloning it, turn off the source, and retime the clone.

Thanks. Can you enlighten me as to why I need to clone it instead of just retiming the original? I guess I’m not too familiar with the cloning thing.

I forgot to mention I did try adding a retiming behavior to it that it didn’t even seem to let me add at all. Do clones have different properties than originals?
