  • How to make audio stop periodically

Posted by Yiannis Valkan on February 8, 2009 at 5:24 pm

1st i am not sure that i am asking at the right forum and 2nd i am not sure if i can make u understand correctly what i need cause of my English.

Anyway, What i want to do in FCP or Soundtrack, is to make an audio fade like when the old vinyl players stopped when u cut the power.
Know what i mean? Something like fading out the audio and not the volume…crap i dont know how to explain it better.

    Sorry.

You need to slow the audio down. You can do this in FCP with time remapping. Do a gradual slow down to stop so the audio gets more and more bassy and stretched out.

    All the best,

My mistake. You can’t time remap audio for some reason. You can do it in Soundtrack Pro.

the plugin is free. there are many PC audio apps that you can also download that are free. PCs have over 90% of the world’s market share. I am sure you can find someone close by to use their PC for 15 minutes to create these short audio effects if you ask politely. You can save all the files on a usb thumb drive.

Thans Gray. You are right, but it would be a lot easier and time saving if it could be done in mac.
Thanx anyway, i will try your solution.
