hi I would like to know how I can keep all my video presets from one file to another (efffects, keyframes etc…)

What happened is am doing a video for a client and it’s half and half slides show and video. All the slides are built with Proshow, so I export the slideshow file as an .avi then add different effects in Vegas. At last I had to change a few things in Proshow but I can’t redo what ever I did in Vegas that would take me forever.

    Thanks

Simply tell Vegas to replace the original ProShow file with the new ProShow file in the Project Media tab, in the original Vegas project. All the keyframing you did in the original project will then apply to the new ProShow file; you’ll probably have to tweak a few depending on what you changed overall.

Ok I found the file in the project manager, did a right click and selected replace and selected the new file, but I still get the same old video. Should I delete it first?

I’m assuming that the original file was named something like ProShow-1 and the updated one ProShow-2.
Also, that you had ProShow-1 loaded into Vegas and replaced it with ProShow-2.
    Correct?
If you did this, it should’ve worked as DSE said,

ok I got it to work I rebooted Vegas I guess it didn’t catch it the first time

    Thanks alot guys.

I have another question I don’t want to create a new post for it, it’s a bit of a dumb question but I totally forgot how to do it. I need to grab half the video files let’s say and move them to the right I need to create a gap in between. How can I manage that? I did it once but I am totally blank right now.

    Multiple ways:

    1. Put the cursor where the gap needs to be and choose “Insert – Time” and enter the size you need.

    2. Use the “Event Selection Tool”, select the events that need to be moved, and move them.

    3. Use a script to select “all events after the cursor” and then move them.

    4. Insert the event you need in the middle and use “Ripple Editing” to move the necessary events.

    5. etc…
