  • How to keep fast frame changes crisp looking as on original?

    Hi!

I have some mp4 files recorded with a Samsung Galaxy2 smartphone.

The problem I have is after editing and rendering I don’t get satisfying results in regards of how the video is changing from frame to frame. That is happening when some movement is present, it looks washed away. I tried different options and framerates, but still the same problem.
I guess that’s an interlacing problem, I’m not so aware of all those little details.
The source file is progressive, frame rate (Mediainfo) 24,474 1920×1280, AVC Baseline L4, 1 Ref frame.

My output would be mp4 for youtube.

    Thanks!

Have to tried to turn off – DISABLE RESAMPLE – in the Event Properties?

    Holy cow, that worked! Thanks!

Btw. Should I always disable it? Or is it just with certain files?

Ok, I reply myself after studying the topic a little further.
    One answer from a forum:

I disable re-sampling for the following:
    *speeding things up
*want a stutter in slower speed
*the “smoothness” looks bad when I slow something down and it’s better to have a stutter.

I have one more question. Is there something intermediate or a way to actually control sampling? What I mean is to somehow be able to tweak sampling so that I can choose the best option between jerking frames and too much ghosting.

No, there is not. Resampling is either on or off, on an event by event basis; there is nothing to tweak. The Auto setting use to work well in the days of DV but with HD formats it doesn’t do a good job so you need to manually control this. I wish Sony would fix it.
