I’ve recently encountered this problem: I have a dynamic moving shot and want to add a light ray on a lantern in order to enhance it. I tried to track the position of the lantern, targeted it with a null object and then tried to parent the center of the light ray with the position of the null object, but now I cant reposition the light ray anymore… any tips?

What do you mean you can’t position it anymore?
If you pick-whipped the position of the center of the light rays to the null object, simply add +value on the end of your expression and you can adjust (and even animate) the center.

OH WOW! Now if we had a DELETE option next to the responses as well as an EDIT option, I wouldn’t need to carry my idiocy with me through e-life (that’s e for eternal, cos…internet and electronic, cos…well, internet).

To Michael: (to whom I thought I was replying to when I clicked the “Reply” button – instead of just adding another suggested solution to the list – Creative Cow website guys, you seeing this?

Thank you for this answer! Difficult to learn something when you don’t know where to look for answers and don’t have anyone to ask… this helped me a lot. On behalf of myself and anyone else that may have found this useful: THANK YOU!

ps Humble is not antonym for Great. You can be both! (and today, to me, you are!).
