Im trying to figure out if there is a way like on Avid to go into trim mode and have it select ALL of the layers of video and audio in the area of my playhead….right now I have to double click to go into trim mode, then select each track individually….please tell me this isnt the way…thks.

Use the edit selection tool G to select the edits on the tracks and the trim edit window will open with the selected edits.

The tool is for selecting the edits, but if you have the edits already selected by command-clicking on them or whatever, then just press Cmd-7 o open the trim edit window.

Furthermore, once all the edits are selected, you can toggle the U key to ripple or roll. You can also click on the interface a la Avid, but I prefer the keyboard shortcut.
