    Hi

I would like to find out how do we install the Apple codecs – both Uncompressed 10bit & 8bit onto Macs w/o the Kona LS or 2 hardware ?

Thanks for your attention & time !

    Cheers

The Apple codecs are installed with Final Cut Pro.

I don’t know if your supposed to do this or not, but it works. Search for this this file on your system FCP Uncompressed 422.component

It can be found on your system drive Library>QuickTime>FCP Uncompressed 422.component

Just copy it in the same location on the computers that you need it on.

ONE NOTE: I have not tried this on a Tiger system, but I have done it several times on 10.3.x

    Hope this helps!

    Hi

    Thanks for the advice

Wondering if there was a codec-only installer for non-Kona hardware + non-FCP Macs doing graphics + animation + compositing work

I was setting up a Kona LS as a capture station for a graphics department, when I realised the other Macs which do not have Kona + FCP, do not have the Apple Uncompressed codecs

Guess Apple will have to come up with a codec-only installer in this case

    Cheers

Just follow Jared’s advice above and you’ll be all set.
