  • How to import old captured tapes from Final Cut into Premiere Pro

    Hi all,
I switched to Premiere Pro CS 5.5 a few months back from Final Cut 5 and I need to be able to edit some of the old tapes I had captured in Final Cut. The problem is the .mov files I had originally captured are not importing into Premiere. I figured it was because I am missing a codec in Premiere to read those files. Is there a way I can convert those old files, get the missing codec, or will I have to recapture the tapes in Premiere?

    Thanks.

those should work in premiere no problem.

what exactly are you doing and what’s the exact problem you see?

I figured out what to do. Before when I was in Premiere and I tried to import my captured files (through File > Import), they were grayed out so I couldn’t select them. But when I looked at them through the Media Browser I was able to import them that way. Not sure why the first method didn’t work.
