How to import multiple images and add setting when importing ?
Hi. I want to ask you something. Is there a way to write a script or something to apply the same settings to all images when importing to sony vegas (I work with version 10)? I sometimes edit multiple images and want to add them the same properties but that’s impossible to add the same properties to all at once and I have to add the same properties to each one separetely ?
For example I need to import let say 20 images and all of them to be set to these properties: Frame rate: Lower field first, Pixel aspect ratio: 1,0926 (PAL DV), Alpha channel: Straight (unmatted).
I need a script or someway to apply the same properties to all images I import to vegas and not to have to change all these properties for each separate image. I will be very grateful if somebody can help me ! Thanks in advance.

I am not a script writer, so I can’t help woth that. Perhaps there is a language issue, but images don’t have frame rates. I am guessing that you are referring to importing video to the timeline. If so, why do you need to change the frame rate and field order? I suspect that you are making some unnecessary work for yourself. What is the source of the video that you are importing?

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Well I am not trying to import video to the timeline. I want to create a video from images, but want to set the aspect ratio and alpha channel to be in that format that I wrote before. I need this because I will render this file in mpeg-2 format for television streaming. That’s why I need these settings to be set.

As Steve said, you’re needlessly complicating things.
The images will automatically adjust to whatever your project properties are.
When it comes to render, choose your template accordingly. -
Well I don’t think so. I start the project with these settings but some of the images are small others are big and wide and so if I don’t change the properties for each file they look unproportional after I render the file. You can see that in the media preview windows and can see how are changing after you apply settings. That is necessary for me to add these settings. Thanks for the replies !

You can use VASST Ultimate S Pro to make the changes that you want. The Visual Effects tab has a Video Event Properties tool that will allow you to make any changes you’d like to any number of events at the same time.

You can try it for 15-days for free so you don’t have to spend any money unless you feel it’s worth the money. 😉 Obviously it has 100’s of other functions that make the price worth it.

Apply all the settings to one image, select it and run Edit>Copy. Then select all other images and run Edit>Paste Event Attributes. Hope this helps.
You can also take a look at Quick Properties from Vegasaur toolkit (you can use it free for 30 days)
