April 24, 2013 at 2:54 pmThe bank and the right shift keys work perfectly, they are just not identified with a description in Eucon. You dont have to hold the shift key and the F keys at the same time. Press either bank or shift key and it will hold until you press another key. Ignore the light on the shift keys. Since resolve was able to ‘hack’ the shift keys to differentiate right and left, the light is meaningless. The panel has all the functionality that Resolve makes available to it and plenty of folks are using it without issue.
That said, I had a bit of trouble with getting it to work properly until I disabled the mac firewall. On my system at least it seems to help to turn the panel on first and wait until the avid logo disappears as it gets an ip address and then start Eucon. Wait until the icon stops spinning and then start resolve. Maybe it’s a bunch of voodoo but it worked for me.
You might want to try a reinstall. Fully uninstall Eucon restart the computer.
And then:1. Install eucon and then restart computer again.
2. open resolve
3. set your control surface to ‘none’ in resolve preferences.
4. exit resolve.
5. restart resolve choose artist color.
6. restart resolve.2008 MacPro 2 x 2.8 Quad Xeon

May 3, 2013 at 12:35 pmJust wanted to update and say big thanks to Lee! This has breathed new life into the artist panel. Before I had to lose 3 sets of buttons (banks + right shift). AND none of my “window” knobs worked. This worked like a charm:
1. Install eucon and then restart computer again.
2. open resolve
3. set your control surface to ‘none’ in resolve preferences.
4. exit resolve.
5. restart resolve choose artist color.
6. restart resolve. In addition I did the following:
Connected to port 1
Powered up the board first then did all the installs
Once Eucon is installed always run it before opening Resolve (and power up the panel before Eucon)
Used a standard Ethernet cable. Zero issues so far. Connects every time. Thanks guys for the help. Now here’s my next question – How do I change the right shift and bank presets? Eucon only allows me to do the F buttons and one set of shift presets. The template also doesn’t show what keyboard key it is mapped to it just shows “F3” and so forth rather than “F3 does ALT-D”. I’m going to try ControllerMate next.
