  • How to hear audio in aefx? and how to sync?

Posted by Linus Källman on June 12, 2005 at 12:26 pm

Hi I wonder how to listen to aoudio to a composition? I did open a .mp3 file and dragged it to the timeline. But I could not hear any sound.
And when I get the sound to work. How to I sync it? Can I change the speed of the clip during playback (slowmotioan at 1.32 sek and litle bit faster at 1.54 sek etc)?

And I use 90 fps. Where to I change du thing so that it goes in 3 times faster so that my 90 fps does not goes 3 times slow at it should be.

Hope u could understand a little bit of what I whrote. And I will be glad for answers.

    1. Do not use MP3 audio in AE. Use Quicktime Pro or similar to convert the audio to AIFF or WAV. Import the WAV or AIFF into AE.

    2. To change the speed, look up “time remapping” in the help.

    3. You can change the composition frame rate under composition>settings.

    I hope that helps,
    Steve

Thx. but I think u misunderstod me in qustion 3.

I don’t want to change to frame rate. I want it to me 90 fps but I need the playback rate to be 3x faster (so it “looks like 30 fps” but much more smoother, I think 😀 )!

Do a ram preview to hear your audio, easy way is to press “Zero” on your numeric keyboard. You can scrub the audio by holding down the apple key if your on a mac.
