How to get Vegas to ingest IMM5 footage
IMM5 footage seems fairly obscure and is used on surveillance footage. I have some footage and can play it back on a video player, but cannot get Vegas to import it. It’s an avi extension. Is there some way to transcode it for Vegas? I guess I could always run a program like Fraps to do a screen capture of it, but I’d like to convert it directly if possible.

Try converting it to M-JPEG with AviDemux 2.5

Thanks. I’m still figuring out how to get the finished video, though. It’s all a green picture so far. I saved it and it still doesn’t play.
If this doesn’t work, could VirtualDub do it?

For those of you following here, the solution was to download the IMM5 codec and use VirtualDub to convert the video to a format that Vegas Pro can handle. AviDemux did not work but VirtualDub did.
