Wondering if anyone can tip me on this. I’m trying to get an effect of someone writing notes on a still image. The image is part of a Premiere sequence.

What I want is this: The image is seen, then the viewer sees the text appear in real time as though an unseen hand is writing it. I’ve been flailing around with titling/Photoshop animation, trying to do this, but I’m sure there’s an easier way to do it, hope someone can advise—

    thanks,

    John

Use the write on effect described in this Adobe link:

    https://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/PremierePro/3.0/help.html?content=WS2B9AAC22-1025-4099-A75D-B6B05D130198.html

Start with File-New-Transparent Video and add that in a video track above the others in the project. Drag the write on effect onto the Transparent Video and then check out the Adobe link above. You will be writing on the Transparent Layer. Set keyframes at small intervals such as 5 or 10 frames. Warning- this takes a long time to render, even with a fast computer. This works great for tracing a path on top of a map or for writing by hand.
