I need help! How do I do the following in Vegas Pro 8? This is from a TV studio that wants to air my program.

    From TV studio Technician:
“Unfortunately, we do not have the equipment to playback the MiniDV (M2T file format) tape or the DVD in our Master control. However, I meet with our technicians and they indicated that if you are editing your program on final cut pro, they is the possibility of sending the edited program to us in a file format.

Here is the specific information from our technicians:

Instead of laying the footage onto tape, DV or DVD all the programmer has to do is export the completed file as a quicktime movie file. The file specifications must be as follows:

    quicktime movie
    compressed at DVCPRO 50 NTSC
    Audio: PCM 48khz

    Thanks for any help!

You would need the DVCPRO50 codec. I believe that Quicktime only comes with the DVCPRO25 codec. Matrox use to have these available for free but the download link has since been removed. Once you have the DVCPRO50 codec installed you just render to Quicktime, use the Custom button and select DVCPRO50 NTSC as the format.

You might want to do a Google search on “DVCPRO50 codec” and see if some sites still have the free Matrox download available.
