    My question is… how can I get that “tripy” hand cranked 6fps look
    without actually using a hand cranked film camera…
    I want to be able to shoot with a digital camcorder(like a XL1 for instance)…

    The best example of the look I am refering would be Tony Scott’s Domino…
    however, I have seen similar looking footage on TV that looks like it may have
    just been modified in post…

    Thanks any help would be greatly appreciated

    One way is to apply RSMB in post and then decimate the footage (keep one of every 5 frames if your source is 30 FPS)
    eg in AE: apply in comp1 RSMB, drop comp1 in comp2 and apply AE Posterize time with Frame Rate at 6.
