Not sure if you are on a Mac or PC. Windows XP was the last version to allow Autorun from a removable drive, so if you are wanting to simply plug in a USB thumb drive and have something play automatically, you can’t.

Hey, did you ever find an answer to this?
I have produced a dvd for a client who has now sent me a whole lot of USB’s to load the “DVD” onto.

There doesn’t really seem to be any conclusive answers around!

    Thanks,
    Scott.

There is no way to simply put your VIDEO_TS folder onto a USB stick and have it play as a DVD.

    No way.

True Autorun has been disabled by default since Windows XP. Instead you are presented with a list of option of what to do with the files on the drive. If you were to place your video on the USB stick, encoded to a common format, such as MP4, the Autorun dialog will give you the option to play the video file(s) with whatever players you may have installed. This only works for individual video files, and menus aren’t possible.

The only success we ever had, and it was VERY good success, is to use Autorun Menu Maker. It’s now called ‘Autorun Max’ from Indigo Rose Software.
