How to Freely Distort Objects in Illustrator a la Photoshop
Any thoughts on how to apply a bunch of free distortions to an Illustrator object group (as with Photoshop’s Free Transform tool) (not just the bounding box points thereof)? For example, to take a rectangular group of objects and drag each “corner” of the group, one-by-one, to a different specific point, yielding a non-rectangular quadrilateral?
As in the “To distort freely, press Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac OS), and drag a handle.” section of Photoshop’s Help file outlined https://help.adobe.com/en_US/Photoshop/11.0/WSfd1234e1c4b69f30ea53e41001031ab64-760da.html?
Any help you might offer would be greatly appreciated.

Figured out my own question! You draw the final distorted quadrilateral shape in Illustrator, move it to the front, give it no stroke, then select your group of objects and the new shape. Then, from the Object menu, you Choose Envelope Distort -> Envelope Options. Uncheck Distort Appearance. Finally, again from the Object menu, Choose Envelope Distort -> Make with Top Object from the Object. Bam! Expand as desired. What a dolt I was for not seeing this. Sorry to waste everyone’s time.
