How to fix a damaged codec?
I can’t seem to play DVCPRO HD files with FCP 5. I’ve been told that my codec for that type of video must be damaged or missing. It does show up as an option on the ‘easy setup’ so I assume that it’s not missig. Can anyone suggest how I might “fix” a damaged codec or replace it?

Having and easy setup does not mean the codec is installed. Maybe trying reinstalling FCP (that is where the codec is normally installed.

Good point Michael makes about the easy setup. Since DVC-Pro is a Panasonic format, I’d try their website for a codec installer before going all the way to reinstalling FCP … or, maybe even Apple’s pro apps pages … not sure either will have it, but worth a shot.
