  • How to extract timecode from an audio signal.

There is a device called Tentacle Sync that is used for syncing TC between devices. In an instructional youtube video, it is claimed that you can plug the device into a camera’s audio port (when no TC port is present) and it will record the TC as audio [beeps I believe]. Then, they say that professional editing software can translate back that audio signal into a timecode signal, and replace the timecode of the actual footage.
Is this really possible? How would one do this with Vegas? If it can’t, how would one do it with any other editing platform?

No urgency. Just learning here. Thanks!
