How To Extract Media off of an edcoded DVD w/o a patch bay set up

W/o a patch bay set up, how can I extract media on a dvd? What software is avail? What have you done in the past?

And go to http://www.versiontracker.com and look up MPEG STREAMCLIP.
Both won’t bypass copy protection…as they shouldn’t.
