  • How to Export with TC?

Posted by Juanjo Mora on April 12, 2009 at 10:06 pm

    Hi to every one!

I’m capturing dailies from a telecine directly to Final Cut Pro, using an AJA ioHD. The capture is being done at 1080psf@23.98fps.

From there I need to send to the editor QuickTime files in DV codec, 720×480 letterbox @23.98fps.

The problem is that when I export my clips using QuickTime Conversion they don’t have Time Code.

    How can I do this?

    Regards,

    Jj

Use Compressor and the Advanced Conversion settings.

    Hi Shane!

    Thanks for your swift answer…

Could you explain with a little more detail how to do this in Compressor?

I’ve been trying to do it but I just can’t come up with the proper letterbox settings and I don’t know how to indicate it to keep the TimeCode in the new file…

Wait….I change my mind. THis is for an offline cut right? To then reconnect to the full res footage?

Use the Media Manager and the RECOMPRESS option…that’ll do it for you. The manual has a step by step.

(I read the post on Apple.com…shed more light on the situation).

    Hi Shane!

    Thank you very much.

Indeed, this is for an off-line cut.

I’ll check the manual and do it so.
