  • How to export a video still frame for AFX?

Posted by Blake Porter on April 11, 2007 at 9:42 am

Should be easy, but I’m stuck. In FCP I create a bunch of individual still Frames from a bunch of video. I need to export deinterlaced. Store them on a drive and grab them for use in After Effects…. Can’t figue an easy way to do this.
    Thanks

    Hi Blake,
Set the clip from where you want to extract the still in the time-line and drop on it a de-interlacing filter. Select the frame you want in the Canvas and go to MODIFIE> MAKE FREEZE FRAME. Then just go to EXPORT USING QT CONVERSION> Format: Still Image and in the options select the kind of graphic format you need. Then you will find a bunch of formats that you can open in Photoshop.
    Cheers,

You really don’t need to do the “Make Freeze Frame” step. You can simply export using the QT Conversion and then select PNG and then don’t interlace the clip.
