  • How to enable auto refresh?

While using after effects, I accidentally somehow managed to get a pop-up that says something like “auto-refresh disabled” at first i didn’t notice any difference, but I then found out that I cant scrub through my footage, I have to stop moving the Timeline marker before the image is displayed. I went to Edit>Preferences but couldnt seem to find anything. Please help!

Do you have Caps Lock on?

No, Caps Lock doesn’t let you preview at all. its only once I’m done changing the values or properties or time line that it refreshes.

Perhaps you’ve turned off Live Update. Have you tried toggling the Live Update button () right above the timeline?
