how to eliminate z camera orientation only
Hi all,
I’m finding this a little complicated, so I’ll try to simplify.
I have a comp (lets call it ‘precomp’) that has a square object in it. This square is a 3d layer. Sat above the square is a text layer, which is also a 3d layer.
Then I have a ‘Master’ comp in-which sits the ‘Precomp’, a camera and a NULL object that controls the camera via parenting.
The NULL object has lots of movement on it’s position parameters and also a lot of movement on all three of the orientation parameters. The movement (as you would expect)causes both the square and text layers to rotate as per the camera.
What I need is the text to react to every aspect of the camera’s movement except for the Z orientation parameter. The result would be that the text follows the camera yet always faces the viewer correctly so that it can be read.
I know that you can cancel out the z orientation with an expression but I cannot seem to get it right (after much searching of forums and websites).
Can anyone cast any light on the dark place that I am currently standing?
Many Thanks in advance!
Dave
