  • How to edit video with separate audio track

First off, I’m a newb at Premiere Pro. I have a video file that does *not* contain audio. The audio is a separate file. Whenever I’m editing the video file in the SOURCE window, I’d like to be able to listen to the separate audio file. I can’t figure out how to do this. Can anyone help?

I’m going to be working on a multicam edit so I need to be able to hear the audio while editing video in the SOURCE pane. Thanks for the help.

Just put the audio in the A1 track, drag the video into V1, and edit the video on the timeline- you will be able to hear the audio while you are working on the video.
There are other options but this is one of the easiest.

What are the other options? I can’t edit 4 multicam videos in the source pane without audio.

You can make a Multicam sequence using nested sequences.
Place video and audio in sync in its own seq. Do that on all the clips you need to add them into the sequence you want to use as a multicam.

very handy if your new to multicam edits (saved me about a weeks worth of editing)
