    Hello Everyone!

I am back this time with a new question as i am not very sure on how to do it. I want to create the flight information board (like the ones you see in the airport), with flight names and numbers flipping and coming to a stop with the required flight name. Hope i am clear enough in expressing what i am exactly in need of. How can this effect be achieved using adobe after effects 7. Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Warm Regards,
    Dilson

    Wow, that sounds tricky.

Not sitting in front of AE ring tnow, but what I would do create one layer of text “Chicago 11:00 AM ON TIME” using the digital readout font. Use the character offset to randamize the letters(key frame) and at +1 second 0 offset(keyframe).

Then I would use the character range, and keyframe the offset from 0 to 100. So that the letters come in 1 at a time, left to right.

Now duplicate the layer, and a mask to the top half of the characters. Copy mask and paste it to the bottom layer and set to invert. ON the top layer, change the character offset by about 20. Now you have two layers, where the top and bottom aren’t changing exactly the same.

Precomp and apply a cardwipe transition and play to taste.
