I’m wondering how they have achieved this 3d effect? Is there any video tutorials out there that I could check out?

Any help or directions would be greatly appreciated!

You can use AE to take flat planes and put them into 3D space, and you can animate a camera’s position. Check the manual for that.

As for the reflections, AE cannot do that automatically — you have to duplicate the layers, and move them down in the Y-direction, then use the distort>transform effect to scale them (100,-100) so they appear upside down. It’s a fake, but it should work in this situation. You might also need to take a solid and rotate it so it appears flat as a floor, and make it semi-transparent so you can see the fake reflections.

Of course, doing this in a 3D app such as Cinema4D is easier: Add camera, photos, ground plane. Give the ground plane a surface that allows for raytraced reflections. Add a sky, maybe mapped onto a dome.

Yeah, I would say this can be done in AE. And for the water and the sky I would use the great Plugins by digital-anarchy like Psunami…
