How to do motion tracking/line drawing in Vegas 11

You cannot do this in Vegas without a tracking plug in. Boris Continuum Complete has such a plug in which you can also purchase separately.

Vegas does not have a motion-tracking tool, but I decided to see what I could do using Sony Vegas and Photoshop.

Wow thanks Stephen! That was a lot of work just to help me out. Might sound stupid, but how do I import photos in PS as layers?

There’s no easy way that I am aware of. I am not a Photoshop expert, but the way I did it was to drag the first image to the photoshop icon – this created the Photoshop project with one image. Then in explorer, highlight the remaining images and drag them as a group to the Photoshop Workspace. Then hit return until there’s no big X in the images. The big X means that you haven’t placed the image into the project yet, hitting Return confirms that you want it.

I sometimes see a challenge that would be fun to accomplish. I first thought of using the program “Route Generator” (https://www.routegenerator.net/) but I had no way of synchronising the drawn route with the video.

Then I realized that the process was very similar to my “Marauder’s Map” that I did a few months ago.
