  • How to do a Powerpuff like trail glow effect.

    Hello everybody,

I am looking for a solution to simulate powerpuff girls cartoon’s glow trail effect that the girls leave behind during their flight. How can such effect be applied behind a moving object, for example, a shooting star.

I am also exporting 3d renders of extruded stars. Maybe i can apply similar glow to those renders. I just dont know what kind of glow or particle effect will work best.

Its a desperate situation and any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

    Regards
    Umer

Have you tried animating a stroke on a path? Otherwise you could try to figure out how to animate a ramp (in Maya) that is on the same animation path as the star (or object) and add the glow in AE.
    Maybe?

Reality? What did you make it?

I managed to achieve a similar effect (trail following people flying) by adapting some of the ideas from Andrew Kramer’s tutorial here https://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/3d_stroke_effect/

    Hope that helps
