  • How to do a face stretch effect?

Sorry for sounding a bit thick but i’m new to this forum.

I can’t seem to figure out how to do this effect that you can find in this video at 0:25, https://youtu.be/-s0AhWRnL6o?t=25s
It’s the effect where the boys face stretches away from his face and leaves a trail behind.

All help is welcome as I can’t figure out how to do this.
    Thanks

Take a still frame, cut it out using masks, key frame its position precompose, add echo effect, up the number of instances and its duration.

    Hmm,
I keyframed a mask to fit the face, precomposed and then added the echo effect onto the precomp but still no effect?
Am I doing something wrong or is after effects playing up a bit?

    Thanks for your help

    Ahh,
I think I managed to figure it out. I had to make two separate masks (neck and face) precompose them and add the background behind. Then apple echo with Maximum selected.

    Will keep you posted

    Thanks
