I am new to Final Cut…I have a quicktime video clip that has a movie playing in a window. I only want to have the clip that is playing in the window. Please help.

Put the clip in the Viewer (Left) window.
    Click on the Motion tab.
    Click on the Crop setting.
Adjust the settings down to the edges of the smaller video.

You will end up with a big black area with a little video playing inside it.

That’s what you asked, but I don’t know what you would do with it afterward.

So you want to crop or scale for Pic in Pic? to crop hit the c key and then you can size the window by eye with your mouse. your arrow will become a crop icon when you move it over the edges of the video.

To scale turn on your wireframe and use your mouse to adjust your size. you can also use the motion tab to set a numerical value for scale and crop if you know what they are.
