    Hi there Im looking everywhere triying to find how to recreate this effect and ive had no luck. If anyone can help I will be really grateful.

    looks like the smear effect… it’s a bit of a unusual effect, but try this:

    • bring in an image or footage layer to a comp
    • create a mask around the area you want to move (or smear) then set the mode from ‘add’ to ‘none’.
    • create a second larger mask that encompasses the first mask and some other area of the screen (could be the whole screen if you want), setting it to ‘none’ also.
    • add the smear effect and set the source mask to the first mask, and the boundary mask to the second mask
    • drag the ‘mask offset’ point to some where outside the first mask.
    • scrub the percent property to ‘smear’ the portion of the pixels defined by the source mask towards the mask offset point.

    it’s a little funky, but you can add to the fun with the mask rotation and scale properties.
