How do I create a dispersion effect using rectangles or thin lines from a shape layer with a filled heart shape path.

I tried using the repeater and I could see how I could get a nice effect, however I’m limited to having the shapes rotate around and move out from a single anchor point, which I guess is ok but more specifically I need the rectangles/lines create the negative space of a heart like what’s on my shape layer.

Here’s an example of what I’m trying to do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E1qRn0hnqk keep a look out around 0:09, you’ll see 3 firework looking effects. that’s what I want to achieve but instead of the negative space in the center taking on the shape of a circle, I want it to take on the shape of my heart shape layer.

Any guidance is very much appreciated.
