How to create crossfade when…
Hello:
I have a video clip on the timeline. I want to lay text over the video clip. I crated the text on it’s on track; then I dragged the text up to the start of the video clip and it did indeed lay on top of the clip where I want it. But when I play the clip, first the text shows up (I selected a white background for the text thinking that would cause it to be transparent)…again, first the text plays, I can hear the sound track, then after the text has timed out (00:00:05:00 default) the video image appears.
This is not what I am trying to do. I want the text to be transparent, laid over the video image. If I lay the text under the video, rather than on top, will that work?
As a side note, I somehow managed to achieve the text/video crossfade in another part of the timeline (on the same video track; different clip), but it was like, after I dragged the text to the video track, the software did the crossfade for me. There, the video is laid over the text and an X is on top of the video, which indicates a crossfade (the text is underneath the video image). When I right click on that area of the video track, the very first selection reads “Crossfades”, which shows the different verations of crossfades you can use.
Back to my “problem” area, when I laid the text on “top” of the video, and I right click on it, I do not have the “Crossfade” selection. I even tried clicking on the crossfade icon button but nothing happened.
Sorry to be long. Thanks for your help in advance.
