  • How to Create a Soft Edged Iris Tranition Vegas 16?

Hi – I’m having an issue creating a soft edged iris in/out transition on Vegas 16. I don’t want any kind of border on it or any kind of 3D bubble look. I just want to feather the edges so it is very soft. Not sure where to adjust this. Thanks for your help.

Hi Dave! – I don’t see a place in that Transition to do this – pity . . . However, do you fancy this?

    Before Transition:

    Start Transition:

    During Transition:

    Finish Transtion:

I don’t see anywhere in that Iris Tran to soften the Edge? This was most likely Modelled on the Camera Iris, and as such, a soft edge was kinda not required. Now, there maybe be OTHER Transitions that do – 3rd Party, etc.

You could do this manually with the circle masking tool, if you want it to be centered it would be easier to do it with the cookie cutter, just make sure you turn up feather.
