  • How to create a Rocky-esque ‘glowy’ feel?

Posted by Rath Balasubramaniam on January 17, 2014 at 3:09 pm

    Hello all

I am currently attempting to add the appropriate video effects to my clips so that they have a rather old school looking Rocky-esque feel (please see the following youtube video for reference):
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s28vNyjOlbc

As you can see, the colours are almost spanning out in a glowy / colour-bleeding manner. It’s hard to describe but I’m sure you can see what I mean from the video above.

I’ve been messing around with color corrector but can’t find the right settings.

    Anyone able to help?

Looking at the example, which is high Quality colour grading and no mistake, and you’re wanting to this in Vegas?

What am I seeing? Some high contrast and deep shadows along with gorgeous daylight saturations. Try Colour Curves PLUS Saturation in Colour Corrector. The colour bleed and glow, I’m not seeing?

Bottom line, this is way too much for pure Vegas. I have Magic Bullet Looks and a mass of other Grading options.

    Cheers

You can easily achieve this using a Good color grading plugin.
You have options such as Magic Bullet Looks, NewblueFX Color Fast,
FilmConvert and Pixelan FilmTouch Pro 2.
And for that glowy feel, Diffusion is what’s often used.

MBL isn’t supported as a Plug in VP12 running on M$ Win7 64bit. I can open it, but it will complain and then make VP12 fall over.

    C’mon RED GIANT!

Dont know why they treat Vegas support like this Graham,
Even if the demand is low.
Couple faster and equal output plugins are available now anyway.
