I am trying to find how to create a mosic from photos that when in place look like a still or text and then the mosaic goes away to reveal the actual image. I saw a cool intro by disney where they created the castle with many video clips and then faded into the castle. I am using FCP and Motion. Do I have to be in AE for this? I appreciate any ideas.

It’s the kind of thing that’s usually done in AE. I wouldn’t attempt to do it in FCP, but I reckon that you’d be able to do it in Motion.

[With lots of pictures I’d plan the layers out on paper before getting stuck in and I’d work out the numerical values for size and position rather than moving pictures into position by eye. Just my personal way of working when I’ve got lots of layers that need to line up.]
