    Hello,

I’ve been researching (I’m totally new to this) on how to set up a full service, professional and commercial TV station with a variety of programming. But I haven’t been able to strip down to the basics as to what exactly I need (do I need a broadcasting licence? Do consumers need a box?) exactly to operate (with fully staffed people).

Instead of relying on existing cable and satellite networks, the content is delivered directly to people’s computers and TVs.

Can anyone give some pointers in this?

    Thank you very much!

You need a couple of cameras (if doing live presentations), some pre made content with a playback device such as a black magic hyper deck, switcher, a live streaming encoder, an account with a CDN, and a website that has a built in player that can accept a live stream feed.

All doable for about $60k setup.

$1.70 per GB for CDN costs there abouts. That includes every user downloading and you uploading.
