  • How to copy paste from one track to another ?

    Hi,
I am Avid Composer 3 newbie.
I am trying to copy an portion of one video track in the timeline to a different location on video track above it.
I marked the clip In out and then by pressed CTRL+C to copy clip and them moved the timehead in timeline where I had to copy it and pressed CTRL+C but it pasted the item on the same video track I copied from.
    Can someone help?
    Thks

Copy and Paste doesn’t work the way you are likely thinking.

The method in Avid is to actually to pull the section you want to copy into the Source, then patch your tracks appropriately and then overwrite the section.

The quickest way to do that is…

Mark In/Out on the section you want to copy (enable necessary tracks)ALT+C to copy the section to the Clipboard and load into the Source
    Patch the tracks
    B to overwrite.
