How to converting 3:4 video to 1080 16:9 or visa-versa?
Hi everyone.
First of I have 2 questions in Adobe Premiere Pro 6. I tried it with my previous video and the video wasn’t displaying on the entire screen. It seemed like the video was HD widescreen, but ultra wide, so it was still creating more black bars on the top and bottom of the screen. Which I don’t understand why. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1YzYyL3IeUIn Adobe Premiere pro 6 what I wanted to do was take some regular 640×480 3:4 videos and add them into my 1080HD trailer. So how I did this was simply to stretch the SD videos to fit the full screen, however of course quality was compromised and much of the video was cut off and the final converted 1080HD video was not in full widescreen. What is the best way to do this to incorporate SD videos 3:4 (tube size) to my HD videos and what settings do I chose to convert to final HD 1080 so it is viewable on an entire widescreen 1080 HD TV?
Also when my film is finished editing, I would not only like to convert the film into 1080 HD (16:9) format, but also convert it to DVD format for people who still watch movies on DVD.

Hi Michael.
Create an HD sequence, 1920×1080, square pixels, either zoom in keeping the same aspect ratio and repositioning up and down throughout where needed. (commonly referred as pan and scan). Or stretch horizontally, which it seems is what you did. There is no other option in that case.
Export as 1920 x 1080 (square pixels) for your HD version, do a second export as 720×480 PAR 1.2 ( if NTSC) for your DVD. That should get you what you need.
