  How to control footage import location

  I am trying to figure out if there’s some way to control the mass of media that comes in as a jumbled mess to my project when I bring in a sequence from another project to my current project. In the originating project, things are nicely organized but when it comes in to my new project there’s multiple footage folders and tons of files not in folders.
  On a separate note I’m also having trouble figuring out how to not let premiere import the same file multiple times. I have write XMP ID selected but that seems to do nothing to help.
