how to connect Final Cut Pro with Decklink 7.9
Hello,
I need a help regarding how to connect Final Cut Pro with Decklink 7.9
Currently the graphics card is connected via composite with a beta deck and from there came out into the monitor Sony Trinitron PVM-14L2
My problem is that I can see in the monitor only when the beta deck is turned on
Obviously I don´t want to unplug the composite connection from the beta deck because I need to export my final movie.
I just wanted to see while I edit in the monitor without having to turn on the player
I tried connecting it with the sdi in line B of the monitor but I can not see anything.

I believe that your Sony monitor does not have any SDI inputs, only composite.

Thank you Bob for the immediate response.
There is however a way to be able to connect in composite mode the monitor and the deck beta at the same time?
My intention was to avoid having the beta deck ON while I edit

I’m assuming “Decklink 7.9” is the version of the software you are running. What is the actual type of decklink card? (what other outputs does it have)
Your options seem fairly simple:
1- turn the deck on when you edit.
2- run into the monitor first, then loop out to the deck. (have to check audio sync on output)
3- run composite into the monitor and component into the deck.
4- get a monitor with SDI in.If budget and monitor restrictions limit your choices down to #1…you will have to live with flipping that power switch on when you edit…It shouldn’t kill your power bill.
