    Hi

Newbie here. I have an hour and a half long edit in my FCP timeline that I need to export to create a project in iDVD for burning onto a DVD. When I export it comes to 4.96 GB so it won’t fit onto a 4.7 GB DVD. I have compressor but don’t know how to use it. I’ve searched youtube for tutorials, but when I follow the directions it doesn’t compress. I think I must be missing some step. Also, they all seem to be geared towards streaming web content but I want higher quality to burn onto a DVD. Are there any tutorials here for using compressor or any way to export from FCP using QT conversion that will compress it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I need to finish this but am stuck.

    Here are my specs:

    • Computer – Mac Pro 3,1
    • OS 10.5.8
    • FCP 6.0.6 & QT 7.6.6
    • Source codec: HDV in FCP timeline
    • Destination codec: .mov or recommend other for iDVD project. Have iDVD version 7.0.4
    • Destination Use: Burn to a 4.7 GB single layer DVD with highest quality possible

    Thanks!

    Anne
