How to Compress a 2 hour long HD video to fit a 4.7gb DVD
I got a wedding video(shot in 1080/25p pal) edited down to 2 hour in vegas pro 8.0. I guess i will need to compress this video to fit on one DVD!?
How can i do this? Do i need another software then vegas? In that case witch?

You can do this all in Vegas.
You have two options: (1) You can delver it on a DualLayer DVD at full quality or (2) you can lower the bit-rate when you render in Vegas. Personally, I would deliver full quality on a DL DVD because we’re only talking about a few copies here.
If you would rather reduce your bit-rate (and thus reduce your quality) you can select the MPEG2 template DVD Architect PAL Widescreen video stream and use the Custom button to edit the template and on the Video tab change the Average bit-rate to around 4,800,000.
Then render the audio as Dolby Digital AC-3 Pro with the template Stereo DVD. Make sure that you use the same name for both files (just with a different extension) and DVD Architect will know that the files go together as video (mpg) and audio (ac3).

Hi I have a similar question, I shot a 2 hour video on a canon xf100 at 25mbs. Clients were complaining that closeups were blurry. What can I do for future reference to avoid that yet still compress to standard DVD? I use adobe Premiere CC and authored DVD with Encore. Also what would you recommend as exporting settings? Thanks much for your help, -Andy

I can’t make any recommendation based on Premiere CC and Encore as I have never used them. This is the Sony Vegas Pro forum. If you were using Vegas Pro and DVD Architect I would suggest you use the built-in DVD Architect MPEG-2 templates and don’t change them because they produce perfect DVD’s.
