  • How to capture video from a CD-ROM?

Posted by Meesta Joe on May 7, 2008 at 10:40 am

A client inquired on the best way to capture Video footage from a CD-ROM game. I’m thinking of somehow getting it onto our Digibeta deck (DVI to SDI?) and then digitize from that- any advice?
    Thanks in advance!

Hook the composite video output to any device capable of transcoding to DV. Hook the Firewire to FCP.

    The results are generally disappointing.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

Thanks David. I have a DSR-11 Deck. However, I was going to try using another computer with an Apple DVI to S-Video adaptor. Then capture into my AJA IO connected to my FCP Computer. Any opinion?
